Mr. Robert Porter

Mr. Robert Porter is an Indigenous family advocate member of York Factory First Nation. Two of his children were diagnosed with IBD. Her youngest daughter, Lisa, suffered and lost her life due to IBD. Lisa was diagnosed when she was 13 years old and required surgical interventions which were expected to help her. As a parent, he experienced the challenges of accessing IBD care. Mr. Porter witnessed discrimination and racism, and barriers to accessing appropriate and timely treatments.
