Mr. Colten Brass is a young Indigenous patient advocate from Muskoday First Nation. He was diagnosed with IBD in 2018. He started experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms which were not initially considered as a serious issue by primary healthcare providers. The diagnosis of IBD was suspected only after going to a hospital and being seen by a surgeon. He stayed for several days in a small hospital and was transferred to a specialized hospital in Saskatoon when his symptoms worsened. Mr. Brass engaged in the Crohn’s and Colitis Canada youth group to support other young individuals diagnosed with IBD. |
